How do I find the information I need?

It is hardly surprising that the modern era is known as the 'Information Age'. Never has so much information been available to so many people. Finding 'useful' information has always been a problem however, and it continues to be. Before you look for information, you must first be clear about what it is you need to know.

Some reasons for needing information are to:

• justify your planned action
• assess the best course of action
• assess community needs
• understand current best practice

The best sources of information include:

• Available literature
• The worldwide web (www)
• Other people
• Available statistics
