Theme 1 - Leadership
1.4. Self Assessment
One of the most important first steps in life-long learning begins with understanding more about yourself. So far you may have thought about your personality traits and your leadership style, and you can use this information to identify skills that will help you enjoy life more and be more effective as a community leader. Visualising will help you to set priorities and sort out what is really important against what can be put on the ‘back burner’.
Self assessment means you:
- Think about your personality characteristics
- Understand your values
- Know where you wish to go
- Plan to get there
The Centre for Rural Studies website has some useful tools to help you understand your values , create a personal vision for the future , and understand your learning style.
