How does the project fit into the bigger picture?

There are a number of legislative and policy documents that can support your application for funds. In particular they can strengthen the rationale and projected benefits of your project. These need to be translated into the criteria and framework specified in the actual funding proposal form that you are using (for example education, heath and local government). To do this, you need to be familiar with the mission and terms of reference of the funding body you are applying to.

Funding applications need to be developed in line with a policy framework that is consistent with the funding bodies terms of reference. The following examples are a suggested list to guide the application:

Mission statements and objectives of organisations may be found in;

  • Annual reports,
  • Organisational publications
  • National strategy documents
  • State policy documents
  • Home pages of websites
